Search engine results and following links from other sites are the two most common ways of law related websites to be found. This should make Link Popularity Building a very important part of a legal site’s marketing strategy. Link popularity is very important because every major search engine now considers it as a part of their ranking algorithms. If you don't have links to your law website, you won't rank well for competitive keywords. Link popularity is the measure of inbound links to your web site. Link analysis evaluates which sites are linking to you and the link text itself.

3) Check your links every 30 days to see if they are still in place. If they aren't, send a short, polite note asking to reinstate them. And conversely, check and remove broken links on your site.
4) Send a "thank you" e-mail when someone adds your law site to his or her site.

Here are some tips you need to keep in mind when doing a link exchange:

1) Do not go into a link exchange camapign if your law firm site is under construction or is for some reason going to be anavailable for a certain period of time;
2) Do not submit your law website to FFA directories;
3) Before you ask for the link, get to know the web site. Establish yourself as a real human first.
4) Make it easy for other sites to link to you. Send the prospective linker the exact HTML code you want in the link and suggest which page you want the link from.

Link Exchange software is another option you may use in you law link exchange campaign. Link Exchange software usually query search engines under target keywords, finds a list of high ranking website that appear in Google’s first two Search Engine Results (SER) pages and sends automated link exchange request e-mails to the Whois or Alexa contact.
